Alison Atkins began winning awards for her art at the age of eight. She received a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her creative endeavors took her to Europe where she earned a Master of Fine Art degree from Dominican University in Florence, Italy. This was the beginning of an artistic journey.

As the solo visual artist, Alison Atkins exhibited her art at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC at the Beethoven Found Concert Gala Monday, June 14, 2010.

Her work has been favorably compared to many European and American post- impressionists. Her style, however, is pure Alison Atkins. Her paintings are a reflection of her life and her experiences, faithfully depicting her moods and her emotions in diverse treatments. Widely collected in the United States and in Europe, her artistic journey continues as she finds new inspiration for her art from the life around her.
